Do you think the answers to those questions would have been different in January or February?
Before the "Q word" happened we pretty much could go anywhere or do anything and were limited only by our resources. Think about that. Today we are limited by who we could come into contact with if we decided to venture out and by the reality that some places aren't available to us. Some of us are limited by fear too. And yes, some people-a lot of people actually-are more financially limited now.
Now that things are "opening up" and people are getting out of the house we still have limits. We may never go back to how things were before and maybe that's ok. Maybe it isn't. It's a confusing and frustrating time right now and many people are not sure how to deal.
Are you feeling conflicted in knowing what the right thing is? It's so hard when we are bombarded with mixed messages and everyone is an expert. Social media has this magic effect of making everyone with a keyboard knowledgeable about everything. #insertsarcasm
I understand the frustration and can tell you what I do to deal with it in case it is helpful for you.
First, I do my own research. I try to get to the source of information rather than someone's interpretation of it. I have a brain and I can form conclusions based on experience and education. I use the power I have to question and search and find my own answers and it feels so good!
Second, I turn off the TV and never watch the news except maybe the weather report. Seriously, over the last two weeks, our television has been off until we watch shows in the evening.
Third, I am a slave to social media, I admit it. I need it for my business and if I'm not careful, I get sucked into scrolling through and reading silly things like "where are they now?" and "50 dogs doing cute things." So I have consciously made a choice to stop scrolling. It's a process but it's working. Did you know you can disable the newsfeed on your phone? I haven't gone to that extreme yet but I may have to....
